Spreading the Love

Hello my beautiful friends! Welcome back for another blog from my heart!

I have been thinking about compliments a lot recently. After work one night, some new coworkers and I went to my friend’s bar she had just opened and  I just have to say, I was in awe seeing my friend’s vision come to life! She had told me the highs and lows she was feeling as the project was under construction, and seeing it in person was a sight to behold. I knew she would create a beautiful space, and the space did not disappoint! Of course, seeing a friend’s business flourish is amazing, but knowing how much work she put in made it that much more beautiful. The attention to detail was immaculate!

As we were taking in the new space, one of the women I was with said how beautiful she thought my friend was, so of course I suggested she share the compliment with my friend. I believe compliments are for those who evoke them, not just for those giving them. The coworker was nervous, not wanting to come off weird. I just kept pushing for her to share that love, because that’s what it is: love. If you feel the need to tell somebody you like their hair, tell them! You like their outfit? Tell them! You like the way they carry themselves? Tell them! You are letting others know they are being seen and that they are being loved, there should not be embarrassment in that. If you keep a compliment to yourself, you are keeping that loving energy inside and that does nothing for anyone. Spread that love and spread that light, my friend!

My coworker ended up telling my friend her loving words while I was in the bathroom, so while I didn’t get to see that love shared, I felt well knowing they connected in that way.

I give compliments as they enter my mind and I hope others join in the movement so we can all spread and accept the love we deserve. What harm can come from genuine acts of love? Keep on spreading it until it is all around!

On that note, I want to tell you how much I love you and how much I want you to succeed in this life. There is beauty everywhere when you allow yourself to see it. Look through the fear and the darkness, because we are the light. The light always wins. Stay loving one another.

Stay rested & stay well,

Grace
